Club History
Peninsula Yacht Club was founded in 1960. Our building was originally an old water tower built in the 1800's, probably for filling steam ships, and not, as some have suggested, part of Frank's Tannery which was upstream. Filling in the framework around the original redwood timber structure created the rustic clubhouse as it still appears today. A wooden deck and enclosure were added to the back of the structure as the membership increased and member needs changed. Other than an occasional coat of paint the original water tank on the roof remains unchanged.
